Privacy Policy
Baluster Studio is a layout aid for railing, baluster, and section fabrication. It runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad and does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
1. Data we do not collect
Baluster Studio does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
We do not:
- Track you across other apps or websites.
- Use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- Operate any server that receives data from your device.
- Require an account, email address, or sign-up.
2. Data that stays on your device
Everything you create in Baluster Studio is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:
- Projects — section dimensions, baluster choices, and cached drawings.
- Tape reads — measurements you enter or speak into the app.
- Contractor branding — company name, phone, email, license number, and optional logo image used on shop drawings.
- Preferences — units, precision, appearance, voice readback rate, and whether you have completed the onboarding tutorial.
You can delete any of this at any time by removing the App from your device, or by deleting individual projects inside the App.
3. Photos library
When you tap Upload Logo in Settings, the App uses Apple's built-in photo picker. The picker shows you a thumbnail grid inside a system sheet. Baluster Studio does not request access to your full photo library and only receives the single image you choose.
The selected image is stored locally as part of your contractor branding record.
4. Voice readback
If you enable Voice Readback in Settings, the App uses Apple's on-device speech synthesis to read measurements aloud. No audio is recorded, transmitted, or stored.
5. Purchases
Baluster Studio is sold through the Apple App Store as a one-time purchase. Purchase and restore are handled by Apple's StoreKit framework, governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. Baluster Studio only receives an anonymous transaction receipt confirming that you own the App; it does not see your Apple ID, name, email, or payment information.
6. Support email
If you contact us at lzzy.ywz@gmail.com, we will see whatever you choose to send, including your email address and any attached files. We use that information only to reply to your message and resolve the issue, and we delete the correspondence once the case is closed.
7. Children
Baluster Studio is a professional tool intended for use by adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Baluster Studio handles data, we will update this policy and note the change at the top of this page.
